Sitting Meditation, Qi Gong &Yoga... Enrichment to Your Soul!
While a meditative state is the natural outcome of Yoga and Qi Gong, these exercises are considered moving meditation. Sitting meditation creates a stillness that allows us to connect to ourselves and our God.
Sitting Meditation has many methods available; the most important to remember is the result - the clarity you receive from sitting. The practice of meditation can only be understood with the experience. Sitting is a wonderful opportunity to find clarity and healing for the mind and body.
Qi Gong (Chi Gong) is an art (a skill) of strengthening health, using acquired knowledge from 3,000 yrs. of study. This gem has come to us from Chinese Medicine. It is an effective means of medical treatment as well as health protection. It plays an active role in preventing and treating diseases, protecting and strengthening health and prolonging life. Chi Gong practice promotes the flow of internal chi, maintaining a balance between yin and yang. It works to dredge the energy channels regulating chi and blood in the body. All this is accomplished with simple exercises combining movement with breath and meditation.
Yoga means 'to unite'. On a simple level this ancient practice is the uniting of mind and body in the present moment with movement and stretches. Uniting the mind and body in the present can bring peace and harmony. Yoga also offers a great technique called pranayama (pran-na-ya-ma) breath control, used for controlling the energy within the body and the mind and acting as a vitalizing and regenerating force to increase oxygen exchange that can be used for physical healing.
Both moving and sitting meditation give the spiritual benefit of supreme bliss or enlightenment, these words are unlikely to be understood by many until you experience this in practice. However, progress towards meditation and meditative techniques have several benefits at the body or material level:
-
Improvement in concentration - Studies have found a direct correlation between concentration exercises (meditation) and the performance level of sports professionals. Meditation strengthens the mind, it comes under control and is able to provide effective guidance to the physical body to effectively execute all its projects.
